OVERVIEW

Precision Machining of High-Performance Engineering Plastics

When a metal part is too heavy, too conductive or cannot survive the chemical or thermal environment, engineers turn to high-performance polymers. We machine them with stress-relieved stock and controlled cuts to hold tight dimensions without warping.

🔥

PEEK High-Temperature Parts

High-strength, chemical-resistant PEEK for medical, semiconductor, aerospace and industrial parts that must work continuously at elevated temperatures and be sterilised.

🟠

PEI (Ultem) Insulators

Amber PEI/Ultem with excellent electrical insulation, flame and smoke performance for test sockets, fixtures and electronics components.

⚙️

POM (Delrin) Gears & Sliding Parts

Low-friction, dimensionally stable acetal for gears, bearings, rollers, spacers and quiet sliding components at the best value.

🧵

Nylon & UHMWPE Wear Parts

Tough nylon and ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene for wear strips, guides, rollers, pulleys and impact-resistant components.

📐

Stress-Relieved, Warp-Free Machining

Annealed stock, sharp tooling, correct coolant and balanced clamping hold tight tolerances and prevent movement after machining.

🌍

DDP to USA & Europe

Certified polymer stock, protective packaging and worldwide DHL/FedEx/UPS, air or sea freight. DDP to the EU clears customs and duty, door-to-door.

MATERIALS

Polymers We Machine

We stock certified engineering plastics in natural and filled grades, selecting each polymer to match temperature, load, electrical and chemical requirements.

PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone)

High-temperature, high-strength, chemical-resistant and sterilizable for medical, semiconductor, aerospace and demanding industrial parts.

PEI / Ultem

Amber transparent polyetherimide with excellent electrical insulation and flame/smoke performance for insulators, sockets and fixtures.

POM / Delrin (Acetal)

The workhorse for mechanical parts — gears, bearings, bushings, rollers and sliding components with low friction and tight dimensions.

PA Nylon (PA6 / PA66)

Tough, wear-resistant nylon for gears, rollers, wheels, spacers and structural components; also oil-filled and cast nylon.

PPS / PSU / PAI

High-temperature, chemically resistant polymers and Torlon for demanding bearing, insulating and structural applications.

UHMWPE / HDPE

Low-friction, impact- and abrasion-resistant wear strips, guides, rails and food-grade contact plates.

PC / PTFE / PVDF

Polycarbonate for transparent guards and insulators, PTFE and PVDF for chemical and high-purity service.

Glass / Carbon-Filled Grades

Glass- or carbon-fibre-reinforced PEEK, POM, nylon and PA for higher strength, stiffness and dimensional stability.

SURFACE FINISH

Finishes for Plastic Parts

We use machining, deburring and stress-relief processes to protect dimensions, appearance and the function of polymer components.

As Machined

Standard fine-machined finish with controlled feed marks, sharp edges removed and complete deburring on every part.

Fine Machined Ra

Defined Ra values with sharp tooling and fine feeds for smooth bearing, sealing and sliding surfaces.

Vapor Polishing (PC)

Vapor polishing for clear polycarbonate parts to improve optical clarity and seal transparent components.

Bead Blasting

Fine bead blasting for a uniform matte surface, to reduce machining marks and improve appearance.

Annealing / Stress Relief

Annealing before and after machining relieves internal stress to prevent warping and stabilise dimensions.

Deburring / Edge Break

Mechanical and manual edge breaking and deburring to remove burrs and produce safe, clean polymer parts.

FAQ

Engineering Plastics Machining FAQ

Practical answers from our engineering team. Still unsure? Send your drawing and ask.

Which engineering plastic should I use?
Choose PEEK for high temperature, chemicals, sterilisation or the highest strength; PEI (Ultem) for high-performance electrical insulation at lower cost; and POM (Delrin) for gears, bearings and quiet sliding parts at the best value. We recommend a grade during the free DFM review.
What tolerance can you hold on plastic parts?
We hold ±0.01 mm on critical features where the design and polymer allow, following ISO 2768-mK. Plastic expands more than metal and is stress-sensitive, so achievable tolerances depend on the grade, part geometry and temperature range.
How do you prevent plastic parts from warping?
We use annealed, stress-relieved stock, sharp tooling, correct coolant, balanced clamping and symmetric machining, and we rough then finish in stages. This relieves internal stress and keeps parts dimensionally stable after machining.
Can you machine PEEK medical parts?
Yes. PEEK can be repeatedly sterilised and is widely used for surgical and dental components. We machine medical-grade PEEK with full material certificates and traceability, and can supply first-article and inspection reports.
Do you provide filled grades?
Yes. We stock glass- and carbon-fibre-reinforced PEEK, POM, nylon and other polymers for higher strength, stiffness, wear resistance and dimensional stability, as well as internally lubricated grades.
What is the difference between PEEK and PEI?
PEEK is tougher, more chemical-resistant and rated for higher temperatures, making it suitable for the most demanding and medical parts. PEI (Ultem) is lower in cost, amber transparent and excellent for electrical insulation, but is stiffer and more notch-sensitive.
Can you make plastic gears and bearings?
Yes. POM (Delrin) is the default for gears, bearings and rollers due to its low friction and dimensional stability; nylon and UHMWPE are used for larger gears, wear parts and high-impact components.
What is the MOQ and lead time?
There is no fixed MOQ — we produce one-off prototypes to high-volume series. Prototypes typically ship in 5–10 working days, and we quote within 24 hours from your STEP file.
