OVERVIEW

Precision Brass & Copper Machining for Conductive Components

Brass and copper chip freely, allow high speeds and feeds, cause little tool wear and produce excellent surface finishes, making them unusually cost-effective for precision turned and milled parts. We select the right grade and process for fittings, conductive components and thermal parts.

🥇

Free-Cutting Brass (C36000)

Leaded free-cutting brass turns at high speed into nuts, fittings, inserts, valve seats and nozzles with a fine, consistent finish and short, non-stringy chips.

⚡

High-Conductivity Copper

C11000 ETP and C10100 oxygen-free copper for electrical and thermal components that need maximum conductivity, connectors, contacts and terminals.

🔩

Turned Fittings & Threads

Internal and external threads, rolled or cut, plus knurling, grooving and standard/custom fittings produced to recognised thread standards.

🌡️

Heatsinks & Busbars

CNC milling and drilling of copper heat sinks, cold plates and busbars for high-power electronics, power distribution, lasers and battery systems.

🔌

EDM Electrodes & Contacts

Copper, tellurium copper and copper-tungsten spark-erosion electrodes and contact components that stay conductive and hold fine detail.

🌍

DDP to USA & Europe

Certified, traceable stock, protective packaging and worldwide DHL/FedEx/UPS, air or sea freight. DDP to the EU clears customs and duty, door-to-door.

SURFACE FINISH

Finishes for Brass & Copper Parts

We coordinate plating and protective finishes to prevent tarnishing, improve solderability and protect sealing and contact surfaces.

As Machined

Standard fine-machined finish with controlled feed marks, clean threads, complete deburring and full degreasing.

Tin / Nickel Plating

Tin for solderability and nickel for corrosion and wear protection on brass and copper parts, with masking as needed.

Silver Plating

Silver plating on high-current contacts and connectors for the lowest contact resistance and best conductivity.

Electropolishing / Passivation

Electropolishing and chemical passivation to brighten, clean and improve the corrosion resistance of copper components.

Clear Lacquer / Anti-Tarnish

Clear lacquer or anti-tarnish coating to preserve the bright finish and stop oxidation during storage and service.

Tumbling / Deburr

Vibratory and centrifugal tumbling to deburr, radius edges and improve surface uniformity on high-volume parts.

FAQ

Brass & Copper Machining FAQ

Practical answers from our engineering team. Still unsure? Send your drawing and ask.

What brass grade is best for CNC machining?
Free-cutting C36000 (C3604) is the default for most CNC parts: it machines at high speed, forms short chips, holds fine detail and gives an excellent surface finish. For higher strength or marine corrosion resistance we use bronze or naval brass.
What is the difference between brass and copper parts?
Copper is used where maximum electrical or thermal conductivity is required, such as busbars, contacts and heatsinks. Brass is a copper-zinc alloy that is stronger, easier to machine and more wear-resistant, making it the usual choice for fittings, nuts, valves and connectors.
Can you machine copper heatsinks and busbars?
Yes. We CNC mill and drill copper heat sinks, cold plates, busbars and terminal blocks for high-power electronics, power distribution, lasers and battery systems, with controlled flatness and surface finish.
What tolerance can you hold on brass and copper?
Our standard follows ISO 2768-mK and we routinely hold ±0.01 mm on critical diameters, bores, threads and milled features, verified on a CMM, optical comparator and calibrated gauges.
Do you make EDM electrodes?
Yes. We machine copper, tellurium copper and copper-tungsten EDM (spark-erosion) electrodes and electrode holders that hold fine detail while maintaining conductivity and resistance to arc wear.
How do you prevent brass and copper from tarnishing?
Parts are fully degreased and can be supplied with clear lacquer or an anti-tarnish coating, or tin/nickel/silver plated. We also use protective packaging and can ship with anti-tarnish paper on request.
What thread forms and fittings can you produce?
We produce internal and external NPT, BSP/G, metric, UNF/UNC and custom threads, plus compression fittings, hose barbs, adapters and pneumatic/plumbing fittings to recognised standards.
What is the MOQ and lead time?
There is no fixed MOQ — we produce one-off prototypes to high-volume series. Prototypes typically ship in 5–10 working days, and we quote within 24 hours from your STEP file.
