OVERVIEW

Precision CNC Turning for Rotational Components

Rotational parts demand concentricity, consistent diameters and fine surface finishes. Our sliding-head and fixed-head CNC lathes cover small, long, slender Swiss parts as well as larger diameter components, with live tooling and sub-spindles for complete single-setup machining.

🎯

Swiss-Type (Sliding-Head) Turning

Sliding-head machines excel at small-diameter, long, slender parts and high-volume precision components, with the guide bushing supporting the bar close to the cut to eliminate deflection.

🔩

Fixed-Head CNC Turning

Fixed-head lathes turn larger diameters and lengths — shafts, sleeves, hubs, flanges and couplings — with robust fixturing, chucks and stable cutting at high metal-removal rates.

🌀

Turn-Mill with Live Tooling

Live-driven tools, C-axis and sub-spindle mill flats, cross-holes, slots, ports and hex features on a rotational part in one clamping, improving accuracy and cutting lead time.

📏

Concentricity & Fine Finish

We hold tight runout, diameter and thread tolerances and achieve fine finishes on sealing and bearing surfaces, verified by CMM, optical comparator and calibrated gauges.

🔗

Threads & Knurling

Internal and external threads, rolled or cut, plus knurling, grooving, tapping and standard/custom fittings produced to recognised thread standards.

🌍

DDP to USA & Europe

Certified, traceable bar stock, protective packaging and worldwide DHL/FedEx/UPS, air or sea freight. DDP to the EU clears customs and duty, door-to-door.

MATERIALS

Materials We CNC Turn

We turn certified bar stock across metals and plastics, selecting free-machining grades where the design allows to improve precision and throughput.

Stainless 303 / 304 / 316

303 is free-machining for fast turning; 304/316 give corrosion resistance for shafts, fittings and sanitary parts. Also 17-4 PH for high strength.

Steel 1045 / 4140 / 1215

Carbon and alloy steel, including free-cutting 1215, for shafts, studs, pins and high-strength mechanical components.

Aluminium 6061 / 6063 / 7075

Lightweight, fast-turning aluminium for sleeves, spacers, connectors and housings, with anodising available after machining.

Brass C36000 / C3604

Free-machining brass ideal for high-volume nuts, inserts, fittings, valve components and connectors with excellent surface finish.

Copper & Bronze

Copper, tellurium copper and bronze for conductive, corrosion-resistant and bearing components, electrodes and bushings.

Titanium / Nickel

Ti-6Al-4V and nickel alloys for high-strength, corrosion-resistant fasteners and components in aerospace and medical service.

Engineering Plastics

POM (Delrin), PEEK, PTFE, PA nylon and PPS turned into insulators, spacers, bushings and seals with tight dimensions.

Other / Customer Stock

Special alloys, free-cutting grades and customer-supplied bar quoted on request — tell us the grade and we confirm feasibility.

Clear, coloured or hard anodising for turned aluminium parts, including sleeves, spacers and connectors, with masking of precision bores.

Plating (Nickel / Zinc / Tin)

Nickel, zinc, tin and silver plating for corrosion protection, solderability and wear resistance on steel, brass and copper turned parts.

Black Oxide

Black oxide and oil for steel shafts and fasteners, adding mild corrosion protection and an anti-glare, low-cost finish.

Tumbling / Tumbling Polish

Centrifugal and vibratory tumbling to deburr, radius edges and improve surface uniformity on high-volume turned components.

As Machined / Ra Values

Standard fine-machined finish with defined Ra, controlled feed marks, clean threads and complete deburring on every part.

FAQ

CNC Turning FAQ

Practical answers from our engineering team. Still unsure? Send your drawing and ask.

What is the difference between Swiss-type and fixed-head CNC turning?
Swiss-type (sliding-head) machines support the bar with a guide bushing right next to the cut, making them ideal for small, long, slender and high-volume parts. Fixed-head lathes use a chuck and suit larger diameters and shorter, more rigid components. We select the machine based on your part geometry and volume.
What diameter and length can you turn?
Sliding-head machines handle very small parts from around 2 mm diameter and long slender shafts with minimal deflection; fixed-head lathes cover larger diameters and lengths. Send us your dimensions and we will confirm the best process during the DFM review.
What tolerance do you hold on turned parts?
Our standard follows ISO 2768-mK and we routinely hold ±0.01 mm on critical diameters, bores and threads, with tight runout and concentricity. We verify dimensions on a CMM, optical comparator and calibrated gauges.
Can you add milled flats, cross-holes and ports to a turned part?
Yes. Turn-mill machines with live tooling, C-axis and sub-spindle add flats, cross-holes, slots, hex features and ports in a single clamping, so complex rotational parts are completed without a separate milling operation.
Which materials are best for high-volume turned parts?
Free-machining grades give the best precision and throughput: brass C36000, free-cutting steel 1215 and stainless 303. For corrosion-critical parts we use 304/316, and aluminium 6061 for lightweight components. We can advise on grade during the free DFM review.
Do you provide material certificates and inspection reports?
Yes. Mill test certificates (EN 10204 3.1), first-article inspection reports and CMM or comparator dimensional reports with measured values are available on request for full traceability.
What is the minimum order quantity for turned parts?
There is no fixed MOQ. We produce one-off prototypes and small batches through to repeat high-volume production, and many customers start with a single sample before moving to series orders.
How do you ship turned parts to the USA and Europe?
We ship worldwide by DHL/FedEx/UPS, air or sea freight under EXW, FOB or DDP terms. DDP to Germany, France, Italy, Spain and other EU countries includes customs and duty for door-to-door delivery. Prototypes typically ship in 5–10 working days.
