Brass & Copper CNC Machining: Fittings, Bushings & Conductive Parts Guide

What is Brass & Copper Machining?

Brass and copper machine quickly and cleanly, offer excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, and resist corrosion. They are widely used for fittings, bushings, valves, electrical contacts, busbars and EDM electrodes.

Free-cutting brass C360

C36000 brass is one of the fastest machining metals, enabling high-speed turning of fittings, nuts, pins and sleeves with excellent surface finish and low tool wear.

Copper for conductivity

Copper C110 and related alloys deliver high electrical and thermal performance for busbars, contacts, heatsinks and current-carrying components with precise dimensions.

Specialty alloys

We also machine bronze for bearings and wear parts, and beryllium copper (C172) for spring contacts that combine strength, conductivity and fatigue resistance.

Frequently asked questions

Why is brass economical to machine?

Brass — especially free-cutting C360 — machines at high speed with minimal tool wear and excellent chip control, lowering cycle time and unit cost.

Can you make electrical busbars and contacts?

Yes — copper and brass busbars, terminals and contacts with precise holes, threads and surfaces for current-carrying assemblies.

What is beryllium copper used for?

Beryllium copper provides spring-like strength with good conductivity for contacts, clips and components that must survive repeated flexing.

What finishes suit brass and copper?

Natural machined finish, tin or nickel plating, polishing and chemical treatment; we can also supply parts protected against tarnish.
